HOW ARE WE MANAGING IT?
We have put significant effort into obtaining planning, environmental and development approvals, to ensure Highgrove Estate will be developed in an environmentally sensitive and sustainable manner.
We are very conscious of the value of the wetlands so will also be introducing strict controls during construction phase to ensure there is no runoff or other adverse environmental impacts.
Highlights of our Wetland Management and Revegetation Plan include:
- Nearly 14,000 sqm, or 63% of the site is designated as natural wetlands to be rehabilitated.
- Removal of introduced plant species and the planting of almost 9,000 seedlings.
- Once rehabilitated the wetlands will be transferred to the City of Gosnells, ensuring that the whole of the Shreeve Road wetlands are publicly owned and can be managed more holistically.
